Hi Folks,

I'm planning a charity cycle from Bangkok to Chiang Mai on the 1st January and wondered if anyone had any tips, preferred routes etc.

I am only taking up cycling just now so looking for the easiest route possible.

I've so far looked at Mr Pumpy's route via his website and I plan to hire a bike from Spiceroads in Bangkok, drop off at their shop in Chiang Mai. Hoping the trip will take 8-10 days as I'm planning to do some volunteer work in Chiang Mai as soon as I get there.

Look forward to hearing from you all.

Regards

Colin

Try to follow the trails and small roads along rivers and irrigation canals.
Take the road from Tak to Li, then follow the Ping river into Chiang Mai.
